I am sitting outside, typing with hands covered in earth, it is just dark, the birds are chirping and a fire is going in the chimnea. While it was still light I began turning over soil at the other side of the little garden I am creating aside of the garage. Benny was watching youtube clips on my laptop. Benny is in now, eating chips, so Eliza told me on her way next door after asking, "Does this look okay" in reference to her outfit.
Sophie is still out with me, at the door stoop. The work week is over. Burning wood smells so good. There is a slight breeze and mosquitoes are not that numerous at the moment.
If the weather remains nice tomorrow I will probably continue work at the side yard. I do not plan on planting yet. I can define a garden space, in this neglected area and put mulch down. I still have a lot of mulch left over from last spring. I also want to turn over earth and put down grass seed on this side at some point.
As I think these things and do small things, I am not even sure if I will continue to live here. I am exploring several paths to seek which direction it is to go at this point in time for my family for Kayla to go to college. Will I stay here, will Kayla get really good financial aid, will I afford enough help from Ashley, will I start a better paying job, will I move to a 3 bedroom apartment/townhouse complex I visited? Time will tell. Numerous tasks to do in exploring these paths - cover letter and getting my resume typed and saved on my desktop so I can apply for jobs online as is done these days, get an application for the apartment/townhouse, complete and mail it. The work I have to do for Kayla and college is close too done. Letters of appeal mailed. I meet with her guidance counselor this coming week to talk about the possibility of community college. It's getting too dark to see the keyboard well and mosquitoes are starting to bite. Into the house I go .... Above is Miss Eliza, her 8th grade graduation last year.
